Description
By The Bay Lawn at Taj Bekal Resort and Spa is an elegant waterfront venue for destination weddings, receptions, engagement ceremonies and intimate social celebrations. Situated beside the tranquil bay within the resort’s landscaped grounds, the venue combines Kerala’s backwater scenery with the natural beauty of Kappil Beach. Its peaceful surroundings, swaying palms and open views create a romantic setting for celebrations inspired by Kerala’s coastal character. The approximately 1,350-square-metre By The Bay Lawn can accommodate up to 200 guests. It is particularly suitable for wedding ceremonies, sunset receptions, cocktail evenings, private dinners, mehendi functions and musical programmes. The open lawn allows planners to create customised stages, floral mandaps, dining zones, lounge seating and entertainment areas without taking away from the natural waterfront backdrop. The resort provides additional venues for different functions within a multi-day celebration. The 1,080-square-metre Poolside Lawn accommodates up to 200 guests, while the 945-square-metre Activity Lawn can host approximately 150 guests. Soiree Hall is a 316-square-metre indoor venue that can accommodate up to 300 guests for a reception, around 200 in theatre style and approximately 100 in a circular or classroom arrangement. These spaces allow families to organise ceremonies, dining, entertainment and rain-contingency arrangements within the same property. Taj Bekal Resort and Spa has 77 rooms and villas designed with architectural elements inspired by Kerala’s traditional Kettuvallam houseboats. Selected villas include private plunge pools, while many rooms offer garden, backwater or scenic resort views. This accommodation inventory makes the property suitable for residential weddings where close family members and important guests can stay together throughout the celebrations. Event facilities include customised catering, banquet service, flexible seating arrangements, event coordination and space for décor, lighting and entertainment installations. The resort’s three restaurants and bar offer local Kerala cuisine, coastal specialities, Indian dishes, international selections and curated beverages. Additional facilities include J Wellness Circle, Ayurvedic therapies, yoga and meditation sessions, a fitness centre, an outdoor pool, landscaped gardens, on-site parking and valet assistance. The resort is located at Kappil Beach in Bekal, Kasaragod district. Mangaluru International Airport is the nearest major airport, approximately 70 to 80 kilometres away, and hotel transfers generally take around two hours depending on traffic. Kasaragod Railway Station is approximately 13 to 14 kilometres from the property, while Kottikulam is a closer local railway station served by a limited number of trains. The resort is accessible by road through National Highway 66, enabling convenient travel from Mangaluru, Kasaragod and other destinations along Kerala’s northern coast. Coordinated airport and railway-station transfers are recommended for destination-wedding groups.
