Description
Taj Green Cove Resort & Spa is located in Kovalam, one of Kerala’s best-known coastal destinations, approximately 16 kilometres from central Thiruvananthapuram. Spread across 16 acres of tropical landscape, the resort occupies an elevated setting overlooking the Arabian Sea and a tranquil lagoon. Its combination of greenery, water views and traditional Kerala-inspired architecture gives weddings and corporate events a strong sense of destination without placing guests too far from a major city. For wedding planners, the location makes it possible to create a resort celebration with a coastal atmosphere while retaining access to the infrastructure of Kerala’s capital. Engagement ceremonies, welcome dinners, mehendi functions, weddings and receptions can be arranged within the same property, reducing repeated guest transfers. Corporate organisers can similarly conduct residential conferences, leadership retreats, award evenings and networking programmes without separating accommodation from the principal event spaces. Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is approximately 14 kilometres from Kovalam. The drive to the resort can generally be completed in around 20 to 40 minutes, although travel time may increase during peak hours, holidays or major events in the city. The airport has domestic connections with important Indian cities and international services connecting Kerala with major destinations in the Middle East and other regions. This accessibility is particularly useful for destination weddings involving guests arriving from different states or countries. An experienced event planner should create airport arrival schedules based on flight timings rather than arranging transfers individually at the last minute. Guest manifests, driver details, welcome desks, luggage assistance and hotel rooming lists should be prepared in advance. Families, elderly guests, performers and members of the wedding party may require separate vehicles or priority transfers. For large celebrations, staggered arrivals can prevent congestion at the resort entrance and reception area. Thiruvananthapuram Central is the principal railway station for guests travelling to Kovalam and is approximately 14 to 15 kilometres from the resort. It is connected to cities across Kerala as well as major destinations in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other parts of India. Kochuveli, officially known as Thiruvananthapuram North, and Nemom may also be relevant depending on the train selected. The central railway station is close to the Thampanoor bus terminal, making onward travel convenient for guests using public transport. Road connectivity is another advantage. Kovalam is accessible from Thiruvananthapuram through well-used city and coastal approaches, with taxis, tourist coaches and private vehicles readily available. Guests travelling from nearby areas such as Vizhinjam, Neyyattinkara and Poovar can reach the resort without passing through every part of the city. Those arriving from distant Kerala destinations should nevertheless be given realistic travel estimates, particularly during weekends, festival periods and the monsoon. Red Carpet Events can manage this movement through a central hospitality plan covering airport and railway reception, vehicle allocation, guest coordination and return transfers. A transport desk at the resort can track delayed flights, early arrivals and last-minute itinerary changes. Direction signs, vehicle passes and contact numbers should be circulated before the event because destination guests may be unfamiliar with Kovalam’s internal roads. The property does not offer conventional direct beach access. Its principal outdoor attraction is the collection of landscaped lawns overlooking the Arabian Sea and lagoon, along with access to a seasonal coastal setting. This distinction should be communicated clearly when planning a wedding described as a beach celebration. Seaside lawns can still create a beautiful coastal experience while providing greater control over guest seating, décor, catering and technical production than an open public beach. Weather planning is essential for outdoor events in Kovalam. October through February usually offers the most comfortable conditions, while March to May can be hot and humid. Monsoon celebrations require waterproof production areas, covered guest routes and a confirmed indoor alternative. Coastal wind can affect floral installations, fabric structures, candles, projection screens and lightweight signage. Sound direction, lighting positions, electrical safety and the timing of sunset photographs should therefore be reviewed during a technical inspection. The resort is also conveniently placed for optional guest experiences around Kovalam and Thiruvananthapuram. Visits to Kovalam Beach, Lighthouse Beach, Vizhinjam, the Kerala Arts and Crafts Village and attractions within the capital can be incorporated into an extended itinerary. Such activities are especially valuable when wedding guests arrive a day before the main ceremony or when corporate groups require leisure programmes between formal sessions. From an event-management perspective, Taj Green Cove offers a practical balance between destination character and metropolitan access. Its proximity to an international airport and major railway station simplifies travel, while its secluded tropical environment allows celebrations to feel removed from the city. With organised transfers, accurate guest communication, weather contingencies and coordinated vendor movement, the location can support anything from an intimate family wedding to a large residential celebration or corporate gathering.
